Gudorf Chair in Catholic Intellectual Traditions

The Gudorf Chair in Catholic Intellectual Traditions serves the University, College and academy through the scholarly retrieval, interpretation and presentation of Catholic doctrinal and theological traditions.
The Gudorf Chair teaches courses in the Department of Religious Studies and makes substantive contributions to the entire university's intellectual life. Timothy R. Gabrielli, Ph.D. serves as the first Gudorf Chair in Catholic Intellectual Traditions.
Explore, alongside other teens, what it means to be “on the way” in our lives, with others, and with God. Drawing upon wide and varied resources in the Catholic tradition — including UD’s particular Marianist tradition — discuss, explore, read, discover, reflect, and learn across four days and nights on UD’s campus in the summer. Participants earn one college credit at UD.

The award recognizes students whose research in a CAP course demonstrates rigorous, deep, and creative engagement with thinkers, texts and/or themes associated with Catholic Intellectual Traditions.

I have learned a lot about the Catholic Intellectual Tradition and been able to see how broadly CIT stretches. I’ve felt very fortunate being at UD, participating in the Marianist values of community, of equity, of the common good.
The McGrath Award recognizes students whose research demonstrates engagement with themes associated with Catholic Intellectual Traditions.
