Our Catholic, Marianist vision for education calls us to equip students with the tools they need to graduate on time and to graduate alumni who are on a lifelong path to success and prepared to make a difference in the world.

We provide a transparent overview of costs and scholarships for each year at UD upfront — so you can make your college decision with confidence.

  • 98%

of 2023 graduates were employed, in graduate school or in a full-time service program within six months.

  • $232 Million

  • Best Value

U.S. News & World Report and The Princeton Review both named UD a "best value school".

Financial Aid Process

The University of Dayton's commitment to transparency extends beyond the four-year financial aid offer. Prospective students and families also have our commitment to providing transparent information so you know what to expect from the University of Dayton. Below we're sharing the best information available, in light of the ongoing federal delays related to the new Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). We’ll continue to update this page as we know more.

Admitted students automatically receive a generous merit scholarship award shortly after admission — no additional scholarship application is required. Please keep in mind that merit scholarships are just one part of the comprehensive financial aid offer.

Admitted students can review their merit scholarship letters on the Financial Aid tab in the Admission Account.

File the FAFSA, if you haven’t already, for full consideration of all financial aid you may be eligible for, including our textbook scholarship worth up to $500 per semester when you apply, visit campus and file the FAFSA.

UD's FAFSA code is 003127.

After you complete your FAFSA, be sure to check your status on studentaid.gov. For UD to receive your FAFSA data, your form status must be ‘Processed.’ We encourage you to check the status of your FAFSA form at studentaid.gov. For more information, refer to the ‘Understanding Your FAFSA Status’ information here.

Learn More About the 2024-25 FAFSA

After we receive your FAFSA, we'll send you an email confirmation. Watch your Admission Account for updates in case we need additional information from you.

Now that we're receiving FAFSA data on a regular basis, you can typically expect to receive your FAFSA confirmation email within a week of your FAFSA reaching the 'Processed' status on studentaid.gov.

UD began sending personalized financial aid offers to admitted students in April and continue this month. Students will receive an email when the financial aid offer is available in the Admission Account, and the printed offer packet will soon follow in the mail. Watch the videos below for a detailed preview of a sample financial aid offer.

Because we're still working to send financial aid offers to students, we've extended the enrollment deadline to June 1 to give you more time to understand your educational investment.

We encourage you to confirm enrollment as soon as you’re ready — if you already know UD will be your home for the next four years, please don’t wait until June 1 to confirm enrollment. Exciting next steps like housing assignments, New Student Orientation and more are ready for you to begin in your online Porches account after you confirm enrollment. Confirming as soon as possible gives you more time to work through these steps and to ask for help, if needed.

When you're ready to confirm enrollment, here are the next steps:

  • Log in to your Admission Account.
  • Click 'View Your Decision,' then 'Reply to Offer.'
  • Pay the $400 nonrefundable deposit, if applicable, and confirm enrollment.

After you confirm enrollment, you'll receive access to your Porches account. Named after the beloved porches in our student neighborhood, Porches is the digital home for your personalized next steps and opportunities. Please watch for an email inviting you to activate your account so you can begin completing tasks like registering for orientation, completing your housing contract and more.
